Default Configuration
Default Configuration
EZ-KIT Lite evaluation system contains (electrostatic discharge) sensitive devices. Electrostatic charges readily accumulate human body equipment discharge without detection. Permanent damage occur devices subjected high-energy discharges. Proper precautions recommended avoid performance degradation loss functionality. Store unused EZ-KIT Lite boards protective shipping package.
ADSP-BF548 EZ-KIT Lite board designed outside your personal computer stand-alone unit. have open your computer case. When removing EZ-KIT Lite board from package, handle board carefully avoid discharge static electricity, which damage some components. Figure shows default jumper settings, switches, connector locations, LEDs used installation. Confirm that your board default configuration before using board.

Installation Session Startup
correct operation, install software hardware order presented VisualDSP++ Installation Quick Reference Card. There interfaces ADSP-BF548 EZ-KIT Lite. sure debugger's interface (labelled Debug Agent) when connecting your computer board with provided cable. other interface (labelled USB-OTG) applications use. Verify that yellow monitor (ZLED3, located near connector) lit. This signifies that board communicating properly with host ready VisualDSP++. running VisualDSP++ first time, navigate VisualDSP++ environment Start->Programs menu. main window appears. Note that VisualDSP++ does connect session. Skip rest this step step have VisualDSP++ previously, last opened session appears screen. override default behavior force VisualDSP++ start session pressing holding down Ctrl while starting VisualDSP++. release Ctrl until Session Wizard appears screen. step connect EZ-KIT Lite session, start Session Wizard selecting following. From Session menu, Session. From Session menu, Session List. Then click Session from Session List dialog box. From Session menu, Connect Target.

Installation Session Startup
Select Processor page wizard appears screen. Ensure Blackfin selected Processor family. Choose target processor, select ADSP-BF548. Click Next. Select Connection Type page wizard appears screen. Select EZ-KIT Lite click Next. Select Platform page wizard appears screen. Ensure that selected platform ADSP-BF548 EZ-KIT Lite Debug Agent. Specify your Session name your session accept default name. session name string length; although, displays approximately characters. session name include space characters. specify session name, VisualDSP++ creates session name combining name selected platform with selected processor. only change session name later delete session open session. Click Next. Finish page wizard appears screen. page displays your selections. Check selections. satisfied, click Back make changes; otherwise, click Finish. VisualDSP++ creates session connects EZ-KIT Lite. Once connected, main window's title changed include session name step disconnect from session, click disconnect button select Session->Disconnect from Target. delete session, select Session Session List. Evaluation License Restrictions
ADSP-BF548 EZ-KIT Lite installation part VisualDSP++ installation. EZ-KIT Lite licensed product that offers unrestricted evaluation license first days. Once initial unrestricted 90-day evaluation license expires: VisualDSP++ restricts connection ADSP-BF548 EZ-KIT Lite debug agent interface only. Connections simulators emulation products longer allowed. linker restricts user's program memory code space with restrictions data space. EZ-KIT Lite hardware must connected powered VisualDSP++ with valid evaluation permanent license. Refer VisualDSP++ Installation Quick Reference Card details.
Memory
ADSP-BF548 processor internal static random access memory (SRAM), used instruction data storage. Figure 1-1. internal memory details found ADSP-BF548 Blackfin Processor Hardware Reference. PPI0 interface configured output 18-bit 24-bit data module (see "LCD Module Interface" page 1-15). PPI0 interface also connects expansion interface used with EZ-Extender board. When using PPI0 interface with EZ-Extender board, PPI0 signals disconnected from module SW14 SW17 switches. Controller Area Network (CAN) interface contains Philips TJA1041 high-speed transceivers. transceivers connected CAN0 CAN1 ports processor. Either ports used transmit receive data. programmable flag connects error power-on indication output CAN0 (CAN0_ERR). programmable flag connects error power-on indication output CAN1 (CAN1_ERR). transmit receive pins both transceivers connect dedicated CAN0 CAN1 transmit receive pins processor. Host Interface

ADSP-BF548 processor real-time clock (RTC) watchdog timer. Typically interface used implement real-time watch life counter time elapsed since last system reset.
