Thermally Activated Cell Bypass Switch
MM158 cell bypass patent-pending thermally activated switch designed bypass current around failed (open) failing (high resistance) cells such that remaining cells battery's series unaffected. Unique design "pre-loaded" compression action shorting mechanism. Construction also employs unique series redundant heaters blocking diodes multi-chip packages. High reliability achieved with non-creeping solder alloys that provide failsafe operation, earth space. MM158 resistance cell bypass provides both cost savings consistent complete shorting action.
FEATURES OPERATION Copper straps used flexibility mounting, passes cell vibration, carries full cell current after switching. Ultem high temp plastic shell used light weight grams typ.), locates holds components together, re-workable MSCC). Aerospace standard stainless steel self-locking hardware (nut/bolt) simplifies assembly, passes vibration. Charge diodes prevent charge current bypassing healthy cell.
