PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
AS3819 powered positive voltage regulator with ultra noise output very voltage dropout. addition, this device offers very quiescent current approximately 800uA 100mA output. AS3819 initial tolerance less than with logic compatible ON/OFF switching input. unique feature AS3819 includes reference bypass best results noise. This device excellent choice battery-powered applications such cordless telephones, radio control systems, portable computers. When disable power consumption drop nearly zero. This device very output temperature coefficient, making power voltage reference. features include protection against reversed battery, fold-back current limiting, automotive load dump protection. Application Hints
AS3819 requires output capacitor device stability. value required varies greatly depending upon application circuit. high frequency characteristics electrolytic capacitors depend greatly type also manufacturer. Sometimes bench testing only means determine proper capacitor type value. high quality 2.2µF aluminum electrolytic capacitor covers general application circuits; this stability obtained with tantalum electrolytic value 1µF. general, linear regulator stability decreases with higher output currents. most applications AS3815 operating milliamps. these applications output capacitance further reduced. example, when regulator running 10mA output current output capacitance value half compared same regulator that running 150mA. With AS3819 adjustable regulator, minimum value output capacitance function output voltage. value decreases with higher output voltages, since closed loop gain increased.
Typical Applications Circuits AS3819 provides access internal reference. 10µF capacitor will provide significant reduction output noise. This left unconnected output noise major concern. AS3819 start-up speed inversely proportional size capacitor. Applications requiring slow ramp-up output voltage should consider larger values CBYP. rapid turn-ON necessary, omit bypass capacitor. Figure shows AS3819 standard application circuit. (enable) pulled high (>2.0V) enable regulator. disable regulator, 0.6V.
