LM324, LM324A, LM224, LM2902, Quad Power Operational Amplifiers
LM324 series low-cost, quad operational amplifiers with true differential inputs. They have several distinct advantages over standard operational amplifier types single supply applications. quad amplifier operate supply voltages high with quiescent currents about one-fifth those associated with MC1741 amplifier basis). common mode input range includes negative supply, thereby eliminating necessity external biasing components many applications. output voltage range also includes negative power supply voltage. CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
LM324 series made using four internally compensated, two-stage operational amplifiers. first stage each consists differential input devices with input buffer transistors differential single ended converter first stage performs only first stage gain function also performs level shifting transconductance reduction functions. reducing transconductance, smaller compensation capacitor (only employed, thus saving chip area. transconductance reduction accomplished splitting collectors Q18. Another feature this input stage that input common mode range include negative supply ground, single supply operation, without saturating either input devices differential single-ended converter. second stage consists standard current source load amplifier stage. Large Signal Voltage Follower Response
