Abstract: This application note intended demonstrate application using DS1307 real-time clock (RTC) with Microchip microcontroller. software example includes basic operating routines. schematic application circuit included.
Discussion
This application note demonstrates DS1307 real-time clock (RTC) with Microchip PIC16F628 microcontroller. example code, written assembly code, includes routine reading time date from routine write time date data from user entries.
Operation
program uses general-purpose port pins microcontroller communicate with DS1307 using serial interface. microcontroller's internal UART drives port pins, which connected DS232 line driver/receiver. User inputs data outputs from program passed through RS-232 interface from terminal emulator program microcontroller.
